Heavy rains provoked Gurgaon on Monday evening, causing the passengers to stuck in hours of nights.
Gurgaon saw heavy rains on Monday, causing severe waterlogging and long traffic snarls across the city. A viral video now shows the Gurgaon -Dali Jaipur Expressway completely dissolved with vehicles after the downpore. The clip shared on the social media platform X holds the chaos of night time with endless rows of vehicles stuck in traffic, their headlights extend in distance like a river of red and white lights.

Journalist Leena Dhankhar shared the video on her X account, which said, “Gurgaon -Deli Jaipur Expressway turns into a #nightmare. The gridlock has spread for hours, #commuters are stuck for more than 6 hours, are sleeping in many offices. Is it a repetition of #Gurujam?”

Advisor issued for schools and offices
According to PTI, Gurgaon officials have directed schools and corporate offices to work online on Tuesday, as due to heavy rainfall and further decline forecast.
The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said in an advice, “Today, from 3 pm to 7 pm, Gurugram city has recorded heavy rainfall of more than 100 mm. In its forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert: very heavy rainfall on 02-09-2025.”
The notice stated, “In view of the above forecasting, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to guide their employees to work from home, and all schools in the district are advised to conduct online classes at 02-09-2025.”

The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) confirmed that the city recorded more than 100 mm rainfall between 3 pm and 7 pm on Monday. It has released “Orange Alert” for heavy to heavy rains on 2 September.
Extensive impact in NCR
Heavy rains disrupted life not only in Gurgaon but in the entire Delhi NCR region. A large part of the capital experienced intense rainfall, causing waterfalls and technical disturbances on the Delhi Metro. Meanwhile, the Yamuna River flowed above the danger mark in the iron pulse.
