The government has won a vote on its profit bill by 75 votes, but only after offering the final-matches of the last-minus to the labor rebels.
The government had already reduced its plans by cutting its plans in universal credit and protecting the current contenders for personal freedom payment (PIP) by cutting strict eligibility rules.
However, some labor MPs were still concerned that new eligibility criteria would apply to claim PIP before implementing a review recommendations.
For fear of an abusive defeat in Parliament, the government announced another U-turn, stating that it would not change the PIP rules until it had time to consider the conclusions of the review.
