With favorite sources, Google has placed the option back to the reader’s hands.
Google is changing the way you consume online news. With its newly launched “favorite sources” features, the search is giving more control over showing giant users in the feed of their top stories. Instead of fully relying on Google’s preset algorithm, now you can decide which news outlet you want to see first.
For readers, it means staying updated with the material you already trust and value. For publishers, it opens the opportunity to have a strong, long -term relationship with its audience.
What is the facility of Google’s favorite sources?
As announced in Google’s blog post last week, this feature allows users to adapt the search results by adding their favorite websites and blogs as “favorite sources”. Once added, the stories of these outlets will appear more prominently within the top stories whenever they publish fresh and relevant updates on the subject you are searching.

Select your favorite websites.
For the page, and your chosen sources will now appear in the feed of your top stories continuously.
Additionally, a new “section from your sources” section will appear under the block of top stories, so you can easily discover more materials than outlets you follow. Importantly, there is no limit to the number of sources you can choose.
Available in India and America
This feature is currently rolling out in the US and India in the two largest markets of Google. Over time, it will probably expand to more countries.
With favorite sources, Google has placed the option back to the reader’s hands. And if you want accuracy, speed and reliable reporting, adding reliable sources to your favorite list should be your first step.
