A 46 -year -old man was arrested for allegedly throwing acid on a 17 -year -old boy, his minor daughter committed suicide after a break up between the two, sources said on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Rahul Gupta said that the accused, a resident of Sindhudurg district in neighboring Maharashtra, attacked the boy on Monday when he was later waiting for the bus to go to his school (in Mapusa city).
The boy was admitted to the hospital with 30 percent of burn injuries. Their situation has been described as stable.
Gupta said that the accused’s daughter and teenage boys, who had studied in a school in Mapusa, were in a relationship.
The police officer said the accused told the police that he had stolen five-letters acid from the company in Goa on Friday, where he was at work and hid it in his scooter.
The accused has been booked under various sections of Bharat Nai Code (BNS) and various sections of Section 8 (2) of Goa Children’s Act.
