Google has changed the name of most new voices for its Gemini-powered assistant on Nest devices. In June, Google started three new sounds as part of the Mithun Support update for Nest Mini and Nest Audio. Although many names have changed, voices themselves are largely the same.
The name of the voice changes
For users in the public preview program, six out of ten voice names received updates. New names continue vegetable subjects but appear more familiar. For example, the name of “Ivy” was changed to “violet”, which carries more positive engagement. “Verbena” turned into “Magnolia”, a name is the possibility of a more recognized by the user. However, “Nilgiri” replaced “Kailathia”, a switch that could not affect many since “Nilgiri” is a better-identical term.

The description of the sounds is mostly except for the “fern”, which now has a “hot” tone instead of “bright”. Users report that voices are very similar in both old and new sets. Google allows listeners to compare voices to hear differences themselves.
Recently, Google lashed out the upcoming reforms to Google Assistant with the aim of addressing the issues of reliability. This enrichment is expected to come up with a broad rollout of Gemini, possibly marking the end of the “Google auxiliary” brand. Initially, Google seemed to have a supporting brand for home appliances, but with Mithun coming on Google TV, the change towards rebranding is evident.

Following the period of public testing that began last year, it is planned to launch the decline of new Gemini-driven support facilities.
Deep thinking expansion in Gemini
In other news, Google introduced deep think, which is a tool available in the Gemini app for Google AI Ultra subscribers. This joint is part of Google’s advanced AI suit. The company has also reached selected mathematicians for full Gemini 2.5 deep think models, who have recently competed in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

Google says that the latest model incorporates reaction from early examiners and reflects recent research progress. This version is made on one presented in Google I/O earlier this year. The pre -model took hours to solve complex mathematics problems, but the new release is faster and better for daily use. The internal assessment suggests that the model now receives bronze-tier performance on the 2025 IMO benchmark, a notable step after the earlier gold-foot standard in this year’s competition.
