Gary Linekar has received his first National Television Award nomination since 2017 in view of the Match of the Day.
Linekar left the football show after 26 years at the end of the Premier League season in May. This was also his last appearance for the BBC, as he was motivated to declare that he would leave the corporation after being the latest in a link of controversies about his use of social media.
Linekar has been voted on the shortlist for the best TV presenter – and in September the ceremony may be a great disturbance when breaking the line of 23 years of win and dick in that category.
Somewhere else, Netflix’s adolescence is for three awards – on -screen father and son Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper are going against each other for the best drama performance award.
The show, which became a runway hit earlier this year and became a National Talking Point, would also be a hot favorite to win the best new drama.
The conclusion of Gavin and Stacey, which attracted more than 20 million spectators on Christmas, is similar in the comedy category.
Michael McIntire and Stacey Solomon are nominated for three awards – Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out and Stacey & Joe captured two spots on the shortlist for the best factual entertainment shows.
The public will boat for the winners, which will be revealed on 10 September.
