The State Department on Thursday informed the US-based employees that it would start closing around 2,000 workers after a recent Supreme Court’s decision, allowing the Trump administration to proceed with large-scale job cuts as part of their efforts to reduce the federal task force.
The agency’s restructuring plan was first unveiled by State Secretary Marco Rubio to finish the works and offices, which the department was considered fruitless. In February, President Donald Trump issued an executive order to ensure Rubio to ensure that the President’s foreign policy was “honestly” to ensure that the President’s foreign policy be implemented.
Employees affected by the agency’s “force” will soon be informed, Deputy Secretary Michael Rigas told the employees in an email on Thursday for management and resources.

“First and foremost, we want to thank them for their dedication and service to the United States,” Rigas said in email.
He said, “Every effort has been made to support our colleagues, including those who have opted for the resignation programs that have opted for the resignation programs … From the leadership of the department, we expand our gratitude to your hard work and commitment to execute this restructure and to dedicate American national interests around the world, they said.
The department on Thursday did not specify how many people would be fired, but in their plans sent in May, it proposed to close about 1,800 employees of the 18,000 estimated domestic workforce. Another 1,575 was estimated that they had postponed the resignation.

Congress’s plans did not say how many of these workers would be from civil service and how many would be from Foreign Service, but it was said that more than 300 out of 734 bureau and offices of the department would be streamlined, merged or abolished.
Once the affected employees are informed, the department “will enter the final stages of its restructuring and focus on giving the result-in-conduct diplomacy,” Rigas said in the email to the colleagues.
This expectation begins on Friday for expiration.
State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce told the first reporters on Thursday that there was a delay in implementing the force cuts as the courts have stepped, as they said that there was a hurry of large -scale layoffs.

“There is a delay – not for our interests, but because of the courts,” Bruce said. “It is difficult when you know that you need to do something for everyone’s benefits.”
“When something is too large to operate, very bureaucracy, to actually act, and to distribute projects, or action, it will have to replace it,” he said.
