Ford is missing more than 103,000 F -150 pickup trucks on an issue with axle hub bolt of motor vehicles, which can cause the vehicle to roll when the parking brake is not applied or the driver’s loss is damaged.
“Both these situations may increase the risk of accidents,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in its recall notice on Tuesday.
A Ford spokesperson told CBS Manivatch that no accident or injuries related to the issue were not known.
Axle hubs keep the wheel hub attached to the axle of the bolt vehicle, which is a rod or shaft that connects the wheels of the vehicle to the driving and supports its weight.
In the part of the US Department of Transportation, the regulatory agency said the rear axle hub bolt may be “fatigue and brake”, which can damage the axle hub splin and eventually compromise the safety of the vehicle.
According to NHTSA report, a indication of the defective axle hub bolt is a click noise. “If the bolt breaks down, the customers can report a racket noise,” the agency said.
