A Florida person convicted of the 1994 killings of his wife and his two children was killed on Thursday, this year the ninth execution in the state of Sunshine was marked and a state record for the same year since the death sentence in the US about 50 years ago.

Zakrzewski’s lawyers filed several unsuccessful appeals over the years, including a final petition for execution, which was rejected by the US Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Before he was killed, opponents of Zakarzevsky’s execution pointed to his military service as an Air Force veteran, and on the fact that a jury voted 7–5 to recommend his execution. He emphasized that under the current state law, he did not get the death penalty with a divided jury vote.
After the Supreme Court restored the US death sentence in 1976, the previous record of Florida for total execution in a year 2014 was eight in 2014, which crossed on Thursday. On August 19, the state has been executed 10th execution and 11th on August 28.

Florida has also performed more than any other state this year, tied to another along with another with Texas and South Carolina.
In the US, 27 men have been killed so far this year, while nine others are scheduled for execution in seven states for the remaining year. Florida was also the last state to execute someone, in which Michael Bernard Bell was killed on 15 July.
