Five people have been found guilty of killing a Greek tourist, chasing a West End Club and stabbed when he opposed the robbery.
26 -year -old Antonis Antoniadis traveled to London on a week of a week from his home in Greece, with some female friends “to see the city and enjoyed some fun”.
During the Old Belly trial, the prosecutor said that Mr. Antoniadis was targeted by the defendants as someone was wearing a designer bag to rob.
Sofian Olich, 20, and his brother Amin Olich, 18, Xiyan Johnson, 26, Joshua McCorquore, 20, and Alphi Hipple, 18, 18, all with all of the north-west London, all were convicted for killing and conspiracy.
In the early hours of 7 July 2024, tourists ended at a club in about 32 Portland Place in Oxford Circus, and did not leave until 08:00 BST.
Mr. Antoniadis and his friends were living at a address in New Cross, South-East London and booked a Uber for a visit to the house.
Prosecutor William Amlyn Jones Casey said, “As he traveled outside Central London, he did not know that he was being followed.”
“He had no idea that five youths were roaming outside the nightclub in a stolen car, searching for someone he could rob.
“It seems that when he saw Antonis coming out of the club, those robbers thought he had got a suitable target.”
Shri Antoniadis wore a lacostay bag and a vsache watch that night.
The robbers followed Uber after this For half an hour for Florence Terrace, New Cross where tourists moved at a shorter distance from the front door.
As a friend of his struggled to find a major Mr. Antoniadis, four figures were contacted in hoods and Balaklavas, to stay in the car for the fifth man to migrate.
“There was a manbag with Antonis, and it seems after what they were,” said Mr. Amlin Jones.
“Antonis protested and struggled and at one point managed to kill one of his attackers with a brandy bottle, which he was still holding out of his night.
“Sadly, that brave or just spontaneous response gave him the cost of his life.”
Antonis was surrounded by four robbers who punched her and kicked her on the ground and then stabbed her in the middle of the chest and in her right thigh, the test heard.
The four men again ran back into the waiting car, causing their victim to be killed behind them, listening to the test.
Despite efforts to save him, Mr. Antoniadis died in the hospital on 21 July two weeks later.
‘Really violent’
The video clips recorded on mobile phones and recovered by the police, on various dates in June and July last year, Olich brothers were also shown in the same car, sometimes in the company of two of their co-operatives, McCorquore and Hipple.
On the night of the murder, Alich Brothers, McCorquorel and Hipple were to live by the court, who had chosen the fifth defendant, Xiyan Johnson.
Giving evidence, one of the women going with Mr. Antoniadis, TIA, was called, explained how the group was catching the “big knife” and he introduced his phone to them.
He noticed that Antonis tried to mold him from the attackers and said he used a bottle to kill a group on his head.
“When they really turned violent,” he told the police.
In his defense, both Amin and Sofian Olich said that they did not get out of the car during the incident.
Xiyan Johnson and Joshua McCorquorel claimed that they were not in the vehicle at that time, left that evening earlier.
Alfi Hipple gave evidence that he had come out of the car, but said he did not know that there was an agreement to commit a robbery.
‘Challenging and complex’
The court heard that Sophians Olich and McCorquaale were convicted for robbery, while both Hipple and Johnson were convicted for possessing weapons.
Date -In -Inspection Kate Blackburn of the Metropolitan Police said: “This was a particularly challenging and complex case, which was continuously operated by the counterparts on the night of July 6 and the next afternoon, given the lack of CCTV at the scene and the vehicle movement.
“I am happy that our concrete efforts to find those responsible people have enabled us to get justice for the loved ones, family and friends of Antonis.”
The sentence has been postponed on 3 October.
