The first migrants coming to Britain after crossing the English channel have been detained under the new “One in, One Out” deal.
After coming to Dover on Wednesday, it was found that the pilot scheme was implemented on the first day.
The paintings showed that migrants are wearing life jackets from border forces.
The home office said that those detained on Wednesday afternoon would be held in the centers to remove immigration until they return to France.
Home Secretary Yett Cooper said: “Yesterday, under the terms of this ground-breaking new treaty, the first group of people crossing the channel was detained after their arrival in the Western Jet Foil and will now be detained until they can be returned to France.
“This sends a message to every migrant who currently thinks about paying organized crime gangs to go to the UK that they will put their lives at risk and throw their money when they come in a small boat.”
This is part of a 11 -month -old pilot scheme, which will see the UK accepting the same number of asylum seekers who have not tried to cross and can pass the investigation and eligibility investigation.
The house office is expected to start a campaign to know about the new treaty in migrants and other places in northern France in the coming days.
By July 30, more than 25,000 people had crossed the channel in small boats in 2025 – about 49% more than the same point in 2024.
Britain and International Law prevents the government from sending shelter seekers back to their native country, before their claim was considered and stuck. However, they can be sent to safe countries ready to consider their claim.
