The FBI has involved in an attempt to kill a Congress intern in Washington, DC.
Eric Torpinion-Jachim, a 21-year-old student at Massachusetts Amharst University, was shot dead on June 30 at around 10:28 pm, and died on 1 July. The Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting took place on 1200 blocks of the 7th Street, who was also shot and taken to the area hospital.
Investigators said that many people got out of a car and started shot firing in a group of people, including Tarpinian-Cachim. Officials believe that Torpinian-Cachim was not the desired target of shooting.
In a statement by Fox News Digital, an FBI spokesman said the agency was assisting the metropolitan police department in the investigation.

The spokesman said, “We are aware of this incident and are helping our law enforcement partners.”
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department told Fox News Digital that no suspected detained.
Fox News contributor and former Washington, DC, Homoid Detective Ted Williams told Fox News Digital that he believes that the FBI was involving a Congress intern in the death.
“The FBI will be mainly involved because he was in fact, an ally of a Congress. So this is one of the reasons that the FBI would actually join the case,” Williams said.
Williams called the shooting “sad, insensitive event”, saying that “this is no exception, but is ideal in Colombia district.”

Williams said, “The sad comment about the district of Colombia or any of these metropolitan cities is that they are all, unfortunately, in a situation where such acts can happen,” Williams said. “I don’t think you should feel safe in any field, any metropolitan city.”
According to a statement by Torpinian-Cachim, his office, rape was a trainee for Ron Estase, R-Kan. He was set to return to Massachusetts Amharst University for his senior year, where he studied in finance with a minor in political science.

Eric’s parents Tamara and Robert Jachim told Fox News Digital in a statement that they were “destroyed” from his death.
