New Delhi: A 25 -year -old tennis player, Radhika Yadav, was shot dead by her father at her family’s house in Gurugram, Haryana on Thursday.According to the police, Deepak Yadav gave three bullets in Radhika while staying in the kitchen. One hit her neck, and two hit her in the back.The police have arrested Deepak and recovered the weapon of the murder – a licensed revolver registered in his name.A police officer said, “The father has accepted the crime. The deceased was shot three times. Police teams visited the spot. The reason behind the crime is that the deceased, Radhika ran a tennis academy, and her father was against it,” a police officer said.What happened due to Radhika’s murder: three principlesDisagreement on Radhika’s decisionsAccording to preliminary investigation, Deepak and Radhika made a warm argument on running a tennis academy in the neighborhood.A police spokesman said, “The accused confessed to the crime. He was not happy that Radhika was giving tennis coaching. She asked her to stop, but she did not listen.”“The body is kept in the body examination and the investigation is on,” he said.Instagram reels and a suspicious affairAnother theory is being ascertained that Deepak was disturbed by Radhika’s presence on social media – especially her Instagram reels – and a possible relationship.However, this angle is not confirmed by the police or family.‘Deep insecurity’A source close to the investigation said that Deepak had developed “deep insecurity” about “removing his daughter’s income” due to constant taunting with relatives and neighbors.Interestingly, the family was not facing financial difficulties. Deepak had earlier owned ‘Deep Accessories’, which is a car parts shop in the old Gurugram, which he later closed. He also had rental income, and Radhika’s brother works as a real estate agent.Neighbors said that Deepak had worked hard to manufacture Radhika’s tennis career.Born on March 23, 2000, Radhika Yadav was a promising tennis player who climbed the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on the women’s doubles ranking, which reached the 113 career-secretant on November 4, 2024.
