Music fans have reported a long delay as they tried to leave Justin Timberlake concert.
The 10 -time Grammy Award winner performed as part of Chelmsford City Live on Friday evening at the Chelmsford City Racecourse.
But later frustrated concerts said that it took several hours to leave the car parks, which were in the form of streams of vehicles queuing to get out. A post claimed that people were “trapped in one area”.
Essex police said it was “contact” with the organizers, which was to solve the issues before Duran Duran came into the limelight on Saturday. Promoters and racecourse of the incident have been approached for comment.
Timberlake was the headliner on the first night of the three -day festival, attracting a crowd of around 25,000.
Duran Duran Super Fan Brigit Larsen traveled from Denmark with a friend for the concert weekend and said she was struggling to go home.
“It turned into chaos,” he said.
“Some very intoxicated people were becoming aggressive and beating on the edges of the buses.
“Some people took three hours to go home. People were very angry.”
Bob Reid, a nearby dog’s landlord and partries pub in the Great Lehs, stated that the traffic was “very, very busy” before the concert.
He said, “It took people a few hours to reach the race through the village and a lot of people were late,” he said.
“Even in the village, people were coming home from work from Chemsford – it took 2-2.5 hours to go home, which usually takes 10 minutes.
“Traffic throughout the region was frightening.”
A Car fire on A131 Before the concert was believed to have done some hold-ups.
After the incident, as fans tried to go to the house, the car parks were gridlock in the form of vehicles, tried to move them in rows.
Another post said: “Justin Timberlake was fantastic, but the whole evening is overshraded by poorly managed traffic.”
34 -year -old Liam Smith, who lives in Doncaster, but originally from Chemsford, said he was “very excited” to see Timberlake in his hometown.
But, referring to parking issues, he said: “It seemed that it was not really a plan.”
Maldon’s 39 -year -old Lauren Kebal said he felt “quite lucky” after finding out that people had queued up for several hours.
“There was a lack of signage while driving and lack of information leading to the incident.”
Ms. Kibal said that she was going back to the racecourse on Sunday to see Oli Murses, but feared that “that could happen again”.
‘Avoid taking action’
A spokesman for the Essex Police said: “We know about the issues that people were facing leaving Chemsford City Racecourse last night after Justin Timberlake Concert.
“The event is responsible for the managing people entering the site and management of the exit.
“We are contacting them to solve these issues for tonight incident.
“Our authorities worked to protect people and keep people safe, including to include a rolling roadblock with A131 to manage speed along the road.”
He said: “We appreciate the disappointment felt last night, but you will ask that you avoid taking action that can put your safety at risk.”
