The oldest living person in the world celebrates his 116th birthday on Thursday.
Ethel Caterum, which lives in a care home in Lightwater, Surrey, became the oldest living person after the death of Brazilian nuns in April Sister Ishna Canbero Lucas Old 116.
Born on 21 August 1909, she is the last living subject of Edward VII.

Mrs Catarum was born three years before the Titanic disaster, which was eight years before the Russian Revolution and lived through two world wars.
The second of the eight children, born in Shipton Beldinger, Hampshire, was raised in Tidworth in Wiltshire.
As a teenager she worked as an AU pair in India, and later lived in Hong Kong and Gibraltar with her husband Norman, a lieutenant colonel in the army.
A statement issued by his care home states: “Athel and his family are very grateful to all kinds of messages and interest, which celebrate him his 116th birthday this year.
“Ethel will spend the day quietly with his family to enjoy it at his own pace. Thank you again for his kind of wishes on this particular day.”
