A trademan was left “completely unmatched” after his van’s entire front was stolen.
Self-planned plaster Kiran Elston awakened to find his bonnet, the headlights and bumper were removed on Monday, 28 July in Vaultham Abe, Essex, but their equipment remained inside the vehicle.
The 38 -year -old said: “I felt as if I was dreaming. I thought, it could not be real, it could not happen.”
In a work group chat, friends told him that he was recently aware of similar incidents in the region. The Essex police confirmed that it was investigating.
“Going down at the moment,” Mr. Eluston said, “is going down at this time.”
“They have not tried to get through the back doors to get my equipment. That’s what I really were there.
“It won’t surprise me if they have done a little reconnaissance on it, operated all around, looking for one what they want, and then waiting for the right time.”
Chelmsford -based mechanic John Tiham said that a vehicle could be stolen in “less than 10 minutes” and alone parts will be spent to replace the “a couple of the grand”.
He said that such parts can be illegally sold between £ 500 and £ 600 or can be used by people trying to repair their own vehicle after an accident.
Mr. Ellstone said that he only financed the vehicle in December and was concerned about his impact on his business, but said that a friend had offered him to work in the meantime.
Police said the theft took place on Sunday, July 27 and 06:15 between 01:00 BST, and appealed to anyone to come forward with information.
