A day after a local news outlet, an associate of Eric Adams allegedly exposed a reporter to hand over a part of the stuffed cash inside a bag of potato chips, including a handful of people of the interior circle of Adams, including his former top advisors, included in his own alleged bribery scam.
The Manhattan District Attorney Office on Thursday announced four new prosecutions, including a pay-to-play scheme and other allegations against many adams’ colleagues, reporting one of his former chief advisors and his sons, local business owners and political donors of two Edams.
Meanwhile, in the light of the news, Adams’s opponent in the upcoming race for the mayor of New York City, Andrew Cumo took a jab in Adams on Thursday when he handed over chips bags to journalists at a press conference.

Allegations related to fresh corruption follow an incident on Wednesday, when according to the local New York City Paper The City, one of Adams’ colleagues, who have been suspended, allegedly tried to pay money to one of their reporters hidden inside a bag of potato chips. Now the Adams Advisor, Winnie Greek, later called the move “mistake” according to the city.

On Thursday, after the reports of the prosecution, an adams spokesman, Tod Shapiro said that the mayor “is not accused of any wrongdoing.”
“While Ingrid Lewis-Martin no longer works for this administration, he has been a friend and colleague of the mayor for 40 years, and he knows him as a dedicated public servant; he has declared his innocence, and is with him and his family,” said Shapirro.
“Mayor Adams also believes that Jessie Hamilton has requested not to be guilty, and someone, like an accused, deserves an innocence estimate. His commitment to New Yorkers is unwavering. Any distraction will never take his eyes with balls or we call their dedication to this great city.”
Despite the claims of Shapiro that adams were not involved, the mayor’s opponents to capitalize on the incident in their upcoming race to maintain their position.

The Democratic Party candidate for New York City Mayor, self-known socialist Zoharan Mamdani said on Thursday, “While New Yorkers struggle to bear the most expensive city expenses in the US, Eric Adams and his administration are very busy with corruption charges to come to their defense.”
“Corruption is not just about the benefit of a politician, it is about what the public loses. And right now, the New Yorker is paying the price because another striking of prosecuts continues to destroy its faith in our democracy and distracts from the ability to seek action and urgency.”

Kuoomo, who himself has not been the subject of any major bribery scams, resigned from his position in 2021 amid allegations of several sexual assaults. He called the latest events “shameful” and “disappointing” to incorporate Adams and his confidant.
“We were talking about how people feel disappointed with the government, and have separated from the government and the government is not working for them. And then, it seems that this is the never -ending series of government corruption that is still going on,” Cumo said on Thursday.
“And it’s sad. It’s shameful. It is disappointing. And then you wonder why people do not believe in the government.”
