Baker also joined the Hampshire from the Samarset at the end of the last summer and took two five wickets in six county championship matches this season.
However, his breakout was his breakout tournament. He took a hat -trick against Brooke’s northern supervisors besides his mantra against the soul and fire.
Troubled by earlier injuries in his career, Baker revealed the BBC Sport when he was called to the England White-Ball squad that he drinks “bone broth” every day to help the guard against further problems.
“He has taken me out in a hundred years ago, a few years ago,” Brooke said.
“He can swing it in both ways with exceptional death skills and at the same time it is great to keep it in the team and to open it tomorrow.”
The series against South Africa is the second of Brooke since the full-time white-ball captain was appointed earlier this year.
England won all six matches against the West Indies – Three Odis and Three T20 – under the first Brooke in summer.
With the Ashes set to focus on this winter, England are in the early stages of the building towards the 2027 50 over World Cup, after three consecutive disappointing global events.
There is also a T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in February next year.
“We are trying to create an environment where we are working towards something, like [World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan] Morgs did when he took years ago, “Brooke said.
“South Africa plays its cricket a little differently for the West Indies.
“We have found to assess the situation against such a team. They are a more traditional side.”
Protiaz arrives in the UK, who won an ODI series in Australia 2–1 earlier. He defeated England by seven wickets in the Champions Trophy in March – a match which proved to be the final as the captain of Jose Butler.
Bowler Kagiso Rabada is in his squad, but will remember the first ODI, managing his charge.
David Miller and Donovan Ferrera, both affected in the hundred, are only in the T20 squad.
Ferrera’s lapse is a strategic option while Captain Temba Bavuma confirmed that Miller remains part of South Africa’s ODI plans, but was not available for this series as his hundred commitments clashed with his build-up.
