England Batter Harry Brook, BBC Test Match Talking to Special: “It was good to spend some time with Smaz [Jamie Smith]He has a long England career ahead of him. Hopefully we have waved ourselves back in the game.
“If I do not get out, we will no longer be in this position, but we saw how soon it could change. Akash and Sirj bowled well. They attacked the stump with all the ways of dismissal in the game.
“Thankfully we have seen Jaiswal’s back and hopefully we can create inroads tomorrow. India is on a driving seat, but hopefully we can put pressure on and uproot them with the initial wicket.”
Pre-England captain Michael Vaughan: “I have a concern that India had a lot of movement with a new ball. What I have seen now, England will have to get a little seam in its action because it is a flat pitch.
“India is brought to such wickets. I cannot see them collapsing tomorrow, they are not going to give them anything. They are completely dominated apart from about three hours today.”
Former England bowler Steven Finn: “If I were inside the dressing room of India, just play in that first session, be cautious and do not give England in my sail with the initial wicket. Then you can have fun as a batsman.
“They can keep an eye on the weather, but I am not sure they will be brave enough to announce. They would be careful with Headingley and what happened here last time.
“However, if they bowl well then they have a great opportunity to win the test and make it 1-1.”
