England’s pace bowler Chris Woakes is expected to be out of the remaining fifth test against India after suffering from a shoulder injury on the early day at the Oval.
When he landed strangely, on Thursday, Vox was tumbling to stop a border late on Thursday. He went to the ground with his left hand in a temporary gofne, in clear inconvenience.
Warvikashire’s man is likely to scan overnight and England will provide an update on Friday.
“It doesn’t look great,” fellow pace bowler Gas Atkinson told BBC Sport. “I will be surprised if he takes a share in the game.”
Etkinson said: “This is the last game of the series and when someone is injured, it is a shame. We are hoping that it is not very bad. Whatever is, whatever is, he will get full support from everyone.”
Vox was on the ground even after India was closed on Thursday at 204–6, passing through treatment and evaluation from the medical staff of England.
It is cruel over Vox, only England Paes bowler depicted in every test of the fierce five -match series.
In the last four tests, on flat pitches, he struggled to make an impact to take 10 wickets. One day at the Oval, Vox used to play India’s opener KL Rahul at his stumps before suffering from injury.
Given his bad record away from home, Vox was already facing a fight to be part of the England squad for the Ashes Tour in this winter. At the age of 36, this injury threatens his future in international cricket.
Vox’s injury is also a huge blow to England’s speed attack that has already reduced by injuries and tiredness.
Captain Ben Stokes, who took lead wickets of England in this series, is recalling the final test with a shoulder injury, while Mark Wood is a long -term absent. Oli Stone is returning to fitness only after a knee injury.
After his previous charge in this series, both Bridan Cars and Joffra Archer were released at the Oval.
