This is a great compliment for Stokes and a concern that he presented a much more danger than the rest of his bowling attacks, especially with the old ball.
Stokes has taken six wickets after a 40 -over ball in this series. Chris Woakes, Bridan Cars, Joffra Archer and Josh Tongu have taken two wickets during the same period.
This shows that his bowling is actually world class.
Archer’s return to Test cricket has been largely encouraging, but on Sunday he found that it is actually a test-match fit.
Her legs were looking around the neck, her speed was up to 83mph in her final magic and she did not look as a threat.
It also confirmed that he is not an express bowler, some people expect him.
He can do it here or there for the role where he really heats things, as he had done many times in his return to Lord’s, but he is not like Mark Wood.
Whenever you throw him a ball, the wood can bowl at 95mph, but whatever the reason, the archer is not always the rhythm.
It is great that he is back and is capable of playing two games, another step on his progress to play in ash.
Now he just needs a few weeks to keep his feet up because if he did not remember what cricket feels, it will now happen.
