Elon Musk says two-sided systems have broken, and they started a new political party to prove it.
On Saturday, Musk announced on X, the social media platform that he is the owner, “formation of the US Party,” gives a direct reaction to describing it as a corrupt political establishment that no longer represents American people.
The announcement viral the July 4 pole on X, where Musk asked if voters want freedom that he called “Two-party (some called unipart) system.”

“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you will have it,” Musk posted on Saturday. “When it comes to insolvency to our country with waste and graft, we live in one-sided system, not in democracy. Today, America’s party is formed to give you its freedom back.”

The step came after President Donald Trump signed a “big, beautiful bill” in the law on Friday at the White House.

The third parties have traditionally achieved a difficult time in American politics as this system is created for two major parties. With the Electoral College, the winner-le-all elections and strict ballot access laws, outsiders cannot compete meaningfully. Even when a third-party candidate caught fire, it rarely remains beyond the same election cycle.
