Ibrahim Shika, former Zamlak Youth Star, who died after a long fight with rectal cancer in April 2025, is at the center of the growing controversy incorporating allegations of theft. Four months after his death, his family filed an official complaint citing potential criminal activity, as the authorities investigate the claims around the true circumstances of his death.
Remembering Ibrahim Shika: a life cut short
At the time of his death in April 2025, Ibrahim Sika, a 28 -year -old, was a promising footballer, who rose through the rank of Zamlak SC’s Youth Academy and went to captain the team. In 2023, his life took a sad turn when he was detected with rectal cancer. During the two years, his health clearly declined – heavy weight loss, changed facial characteristics, and eventually, dependence on wheelchair. His wife, Heba al-Turki, often shared updates about his situation on his personal social media accounts, which depicted the couple’s struggle with illness. In one of her last social media posts, Shika shared a picture with Heba, writing,“Life has taken and brought people, but you have been stable from the beginning.”Shika died after treating intensive hospital. According to the official death certificate received by family lawyers, the cause of death was “the pulmonary embolism was not with acute core pulmonary” – a malignant blood clot that disrupts blood flow to the lungs.
Surface of allegations of organ theft
Despite the medical explanation for Shika’s death, the distracted allegations were suggested online that some organs- especially her kidneys and a part of her liver were removed post-mortem for the purpose of human organ smuggling.Speculation gained momentum in social media platforms, causing a widespread increase in both sports and public circles. In response to these rumors, Shika’s family took formal action. His lawyer filed an essential complaint with a public prosecutor (case number 5139 of 2025), including criminal activity that includes organ theft and medical negligence, and directly implicated his widow, Heba El-Turkish.The complaint was referred to by the investigative officers to start an official inquiry to the Tonfa Appeal Prosecution. As part of the initial investigative steps, Shika’s lawyer, his mother, and his brother Khalid began collecting evidence and witness accounts in front of the authorities.
Conflicting statement and legal development
As the case comes out, various statements of Shika’s close colleagues present a mixed picture. One of Shika’s close friends, Islam Redda pushed him strongly against allegations of theft of organ, labeled him “malicious rumors”. REDA confirmed that Shika had been treating for rectal cancer for almost two years, which is well documented in her medical records. On the other hand, the family maintains the discrepancies that, with reports about the missing organs along with the discrepancies around the cause of death, justifies an intensive investigation. His lawyer emphasized that all claims should face decisive evidence and face all the parties involved – first and most important, Shika’s widow should be faced.
The widow reacts amidst the ongoing investigation
Through his legal representation, Heba L-Turkish has clearly rejected all the allegations. She described the claims as an attempt to discredit both her and her and her late husband. However, the Public Prosecution has not denied further discovered steps, including the possibility of a carcass to find out whether the organs were actually removed after death. So far, the case remains under active review. With the legal process coming out and the public attention, the whole truth behind Ibrahim Shanka’s death has not been determined yet.
