New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Jurgan Hardt, Member of Parliament in New Delhi on Tuesday and discussed the growing bilateral relations and recent global development.In a post on X, Jaishankar wrote, “It is always good to catch with German MP @Juergenhardt. Discussed our bilateral cooperation and global development.”According to Mea, Germany is one of the most valuable partners of India in Europe. The two countries share a strong strategic partnership, which has increased continuously for decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1951. In March 2021, both sides marked the 70 -year diplomatic relations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Olaf Sholaz have held regular meetings regularly and on the occasion of the major global summit. In fact, they have met six times in the last two years.His latest meeting was held in June 2024 during the G7 Summit in Apulia, Italy, where he reviewed the ongoing cooperation. Earlier, the two leaders also met at the G20 summit in New Delhi in September 2023 and also during the G7 Summit in Hiroshima in May 2023. Chancellor Sholaz paid a standalone state trip in India in February 2023, since the launch of a German Chancellor Counseling (IGC) by a German Chancellor for the first time.India and Germany held their 6th IGC in Berlin in May 2022, co-headed by PM Modi and Chancellor Sholaz. Many agreements were signed in the field of clean energy, health, agricultural science, skill development, mobility, and more. According to a major result Mea, there was a joint announcement of intentions on the Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP).
