The draw for the 2026 Men’s World Cup will be held in Washington in December, US President Donald Trump has announced.
The tournament will be in the United States, Canada and Mexico and will feature 48 countries – 32.
The draw was expected to be held in Las Vegas, which was completed when the US hosted the 1994 tournament.
However, the draw, on December 5, will move forward at the Kennedy Center instead – the performance art site where Trump is the president.
“This is the biggest event in the game,” said Trump, “said Trump.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who used to bring with him the World Cup Trophy, also participated in the draw announcement from the Oval Office at the White House.
Infantino said, “The draw will be broadcast live all over the world and will be seen by one Arab viewers.”
