Jota scored 65 goals in 182 demonstrations for Liverpool, helping him win the FA Cup and League Cup in 2022 and had a Premier League title in the previous season.
He played his last match for Portugal as he defeated Spain in the final of the Nations League on 8 June. He scored 14 goals at 49 international levels.
Guardia Civil told BBC Sport that Jota and his brother died after his car, overtaking a Lamborghini, another vehicle, exiting the road due to a tire shock.
The brothers were going to the Sentnder’s Spanish port, so Jota could return to Liverpool for pre-seasons training.
