Following the decision in Scene “Didi” Comombs trial in New York on Wednesday, there was a hot collision between emotions and protesters in a warm collision in court, who opposed the views about the result.
Some people thought that the rap star should have been found guilty in more severe cases, not only two low allegations on which they were convicted.
But they overtaken the pro-diddti affected and fans, chanting “Free Didi” and “Late them” and spraying each other in baby oil at the celebration.
The mixed decision of the jury did not introduce a clear-cut outcome-but it was seen as a better-and-and-off results for the star.
He still faces important prison time and dozens of citizens legal matters, though. His reputation will be faded forever for months of ugly allegations and revelations – and two punishment.
But some observers believe that he is unlikely to stop trying to return.
Hip-hop driving force
As a lyricist, wrappers, manufacturers and record labels Empressio, Comombs – was previously known as Puff Daddy – was one of the driving forces in the hip -hop and R&B in the 1990s.
He launched the infamous Big and Mary J. Blog’s career, signed beliefs such as Faith Evans, 112, Mess and Genel Mone for his Bad Boy Records Label, and worked with stars including Maria Kerry, Ashra and Busta Rhymes.
He won three Grammy Awards as an artist and made his biggest pop hit with I Will Listing U, with every police breath in 1997, which was his tribute after Big’s murder.
Comombs “was one of the most famous people in the hip-hop”, says August Brown, music writer of Los Angeles Times.
“He was an incredibly important person in developing both that style and music industry, as a whole in a commercial juggler.”
Dark side of sister’s parties
Like many people at the peak of the music industry, he also threw the grand parties. But disclosing a deep side, disgusting details came out during legal matters.
These were the so -called “Freak of” Hotel sex encounters that could live for days, including many men escorts, regular violence and abundant drugs and abundant amounts of baby oil.
The question for the jury was whether it was a criminal venture that was designed to force two alleged victims to sex against their will or what, as Combs claimed, women voluntarily participated.
Raksha argued that these limbs were “kinky”, but agreed – and it was not criminal to organize them.
Finally, the jury agreed and was not convicted of two allegations of sex trafficking along with the most serious allegations of plotting.
Mr. Brown told the BBC World Service, “The jury did not just know what is the amount of a very baroque and violent and drug-stoped sex life from Didi, which is for a criminal organization for a criminal organization, or the way we understand it, Mr. Brown told BBC World Service.
“It’s not to say that this was not possible, but he did not think that it increased to ‘beyond a shadow of doubt’.”
Jail returns again?
However, Comombs was convicted in two cases of transportation of two former girlfriends, including the singer, including how, was convicted for participating in sex acts and prostitution.
He will face a jail of up to 10 years for each charge for being sentenced in October. But the sentence is likely to be less than maximum and walking together, the year he would have already spent to cut jail. So it is very possible that it can be free in many years.
His supporters must be waiting – but most people will not be ready to accept the return, Mr. Brown says.
“I can’t imagine any kind of redemption arc, as far as [remaining] In its light as an artist or a music mogul.
“I think the public will remember him as an important person, whose name is now permanently associated with this very difficult-to-process allegations, even if he is not convicted on the worst.”
Alvin Blanco, a content director of hiphopwired.com, agrees that Combes is very foggy to make a successful comeback. “He is definitely going to try, but I think the loss is very irreparable at this point.”
Mark Anthony Neil, a professor at African American study at Duke University in Northern Carolina, also believes that “no doubt” revelations have tarnished the legacy of the Comombs, which helped the hip-hop take the hip-hop “from the Jewish settlement to the global mainstream in the mainstream of the US.
However, his influence on music was reduced even before the allegations, called Jem Aswad, the executive editor of music in the variety.
“He is not really much of a music career, and he is not for about 15 years,” Mr. Aswad told BBC News.
“It’s not that he was unpopular, although he was not very popular recently – he just went into other businesses. He entered the beverages, he came into the dress, he entered a lot of other businesses.
“Whatever he had done in music in the last 15 years was almost for fun. I think he has released two, perhaps three albums in that time, and he simply corrected, and clearly he was just fine.”
Prize success
His stock was still very high, though. His last LP, The Love Album: Off the Grid, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2024. Last year, he was named a global icon at the MTV Awards.
And he will not be the first star to maintain support despite facing allegations.
Michael Jackson was approved for child abuse in court in 2005, but has remained inspiring claims about him, and many still wrestle how to cover those people with the talent of the King of Pop Catalogs.
R&B Star R. Kelly was imprisoned in 2022 for 30 years in jail and sex trafficking. He still has five million monthly listeners on Spotify in The Last Count.
In the hip-hop, some may be ready to work with combs. Kanye West released a song called Didi Free last week – although Kanye himself was unstable to create antisemtic and Nazi statement by large parts of the industry.
Happiness of supporters
On the trial podcast, BBC’s Diddy’s host Anusa Mutanda-Deferti has seen support outside the court and suggested that a route may be returned.
“We will see what happens to his career after this,” he told the BBC newscast.
“I think he will be able to retrieve a top position in the hip-hop, as we have been able to be unjustly targeted by our fans and the sheer amount of support here, and those who feel that they were being unjustly targeted by the federal government.
“He will not be the first musician to be a guilty criminal who to make a music career, especially in the hip-hop.”
For many people, the details of the case will be difficult to move from memory, however.
On Wednesday, Angela Star, one of the content creators outside the court, told BBC News that “his image is tainted, and when you think about Didi now, you think …” Before holding a bottle of baby oil before finishing your point.
