Washington – Transport Department Washington, DC’s transit hub will reconstruct the management of the union station, Transport Secretary Sean Dafi announced that the move is “required to help make the city safe and beautiful.”
Dafi announced on Wednesday as he joined EMTRAK leaders, to mark the launch of new Acela train sets, and as the Trump administration has launched Anti-crime In Washington that involves a large -scale federal appearance. Although the Transport Department owe the transit hub since the early 1980s, the department says that control has decreased through various leases and agreements.
“With these new Acela Train Saters, Amtrak will provide more reliable service and low prices for American people – increasing the profitability of all organizations,” Dafi said. “But we are not staying there. Instead of being a point of pride, the union station of Washington has fallen into chaos. By recovering the station management, we will help make this city safe and beautiful at a fraction of the cost.”
The union station and the DC’s metro system and the entire Northeast Corridor as well as the rest of the eastern coast are a center for traveling, and Ametrack says that around 70,000 people pass through the union station each day.
Union stations have been a focal point for the crime of the federal government at Washington, in which the administration is cited as crime and being homeless. The presence of a large national guard is posted there, and Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited the members of the National Guard patrolling there last week.
The Transport Department says that the department will soon be able to re -establish income from the station, such as for parking, for capital improvement, such as security, light and lift. The department said that the union station is making an agreement with the redevelopment corporation and the Emitrack, and the station is expected to be renewed in September.
