The Democratic Party’s branch branch on Saturday supported the campaign of the far-flung state Sen Omar Fateh for the mayor of Minianpolis.
Fateh announced support from the Democratic Farmer-Labber (DFL) party on social media. He also received a democrats on the supporting Mayor Jacob Frey.
“I was supported by DFL for the mayor of Minianpolis, this support is a message. This support is a message that the residents of Miniapolis are done with broken promises, veto and politics as usual. It is a mandate to create a city that works for all of us,” FET has written on X.
DFL did not immediately respond to the request of comment from Fox News Digital.

Fateh received many comparisons from Zoharan Mamdani in New York City. Like Mammadani, Fateh is a Muslim Democratic Socialist and, at the age of 35, is a fellow member of Generation Y.
Fateh, a son of Somali immigrants, first became Somali-American Minnesota Senate In 2020. He said that, if the mayor is elected, he will increase the minimum wage of the city, increase the supply of affordable housing, and he will compete with what he says “police violence”.

Frey criticized Fateh’s support for DFL in a campaign statement, arguing the party’s conference, where the decision was taken, it was “irregular”.
The campaign spokesperson Sam Shulnberg said, “This election should be decided by the entire city, rather than the small group of people who became representatives, especially in the light of extremely flawless and irregular conduct of this conference.”
Meyer Jacob Frey of Miniapolis criticized Omar Fateh’s support for DFL.

“Voters will now have a clear option between the records and leadership of Sen Fateh and Mayor Frey. We are ready to take their vision for voters in November,” Shoolberg said.
