“I am not saying that we should convert to the entire party,” Nudler told the New York Times. “But I think a certain amount of change is very helpful, especially when we face the challenge of Trump and his inconsistent fascism.”

The 78 -year -old Nudler was first selected for the Congress in 1992. He was the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee from 2019 to 2023 and then served as a member of the rape. Nudler was facing a primary challenge from 26 -year -old Liam Elkind. Elkind told CBS News in August that the party needs to be a “party of fighters. We need to be a party of organizers. We need to be more relevant, better organized and ready to fight.”
House Minority Leader Hakim Jeffrees in a statement called Nadler in a statement called “An tireless fighter for justice, civil rights and freedom and a fundamental promise of equality for all”.
“As the legendary chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee, he helped lead two historical impeachments and ensured that no one, not even the President, is above the law,” Jeffrees said. “In that role, he enacted a law to protect our democracy and American way of American life, fighting for women, people of color and LGBTQ+ Community, to include respect for the Marriage Act in the Law. … Jerry’s years leadership has earned him a place among our country’s greatest public servants.
