How does MLB decide where the all-star game will be?
The MLB selects all-star game locations through a subjective process led by a league-appointed committee. While there is no formal rotation, newly built or recently rebuated ballparks as well as those who have not been hosted in years, often get priority. Historical relevance and special anniversary can also affect the choice. Although the game is traditionally optionally optional between American and National League parks, that pattern has not always been strictly followed.
