Former New York village. Andrew Kuomo has recently intended to run as an independent in New York City’s mayoral race after suffering a double -point defeat to Democratic Socialist Zoharan Mamdani in Democratic Primary.

Mamdani’s distressed victory put Democrats in an uncertain position to rally behind a candidate, which promoted controversial positions that include increasing income tax on the top -earnings of the city, setting up government -run grocery stores and using public funds to make children universal.

Mamdani, who is a Muslim, has also investigated for his opposition from Israel, a major Middle East ally for the United States. Quoomo advocated Israel and separated himself from Mamdani during the primary race and received support from supporters donors.
