Famous coucher designer Lily Sami is lending her heritage for a reason about her heart, George Mark Children’s House, a Bay Area Donation of many of her prestigious gowns to benefit from the Pediatric Pacific Care Center that supports children with life-limited and complex medical conditions.
The gown will be depicted in the “elegance meat impact impact” charity auction, a philanthropic initiative that is aimed at raising funds to support the mission of the center’s mission to support the mission of providing kind, family-focused care. The event brings together the artists, community leaders and philanthropists from Bay Area to celebrate fashion as a vehicle for medical and hope.
Sami, whose career has spread over five decades, has dressed to Hollywood stars and dignitaries, but she says that the most meaningful moments of her work came from the headlines, not with the calm satisfaction of creation.
“The most satisfied and pleasant time for me was when we were all together – I and my intern, everyone in the showroom – the gown was finished,” the comfort missed. “We were standing around it, having a nuisance with it, taking pictures. And I was,” Oh my God, we did it. ” It was very amazing for me, it just warmed my heart. ,
Born in Irani Badappan, Sammy’s way of fashion was away from traditional. She remembers her family, especially from her mother, who struggled to accept the choice of her unconventional career.
“She came here from Iran and said, ‘You cannot do this. It’s not just for you,” Sami said. “And I said,” Yes, this is. This is what I want to do, and I am going to work it. “
And he did it. Over the years, Sami created a reputation for complex, timeless coucher and became a stability in aristocratic fashion circles, including Neemon Marcus and Sachs Fifth Avenue her clothes.
Although retired now, she continues creativity in her philanthropic efforts, which works with leaders such as Saren Melania, the artistic director of the Presidio Dance Theater.
“He is actually a treasure for the Gulf region,” said Melania. “Throughout his career, he made separate fashion shows for different charity and helped to give back. And George Mark House – I remember he had visited the day and day – he called me and said,” We have to do it. “
Established in 2004 and located in San Leandro, California, George Mark Children’s House was the first freestanding pediatric admiration center in the United States. Unlike traditional Dharamshala programs, it offers a wide range of services including life care, transitional care for children leaving children, and care relief that allows families to temporary relief. The Center aims to increase the quality of life, not only for children with life-limited diseases, but also for their entire families.
“If they can also help a child, I will be very proud and happy,” Sami said.
The elegance comes from the impact auction, not only the best designs of Sami, but will also have a permanent belief that art should serve a high purpose.
