About 20 people have been evacuated from their homes because firefighters work to deal with a large blast in a field.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service on Saturday responded to reports of fire at the chestnut farm in streamcross on the outskirts of the Samaraset, just before 21:20 BST.
Fire crew remains on the spot, while Avon and Summerset police officers are closing the road in the area.
Residents living nearby are being urged to stay inside and keep doors and windows closed because fire service has warned the smoke that “dangerous chemicals can be”.
Police said the incident continues, but there was no injury.
The North Somerset Council has set up an emergency rest center for those who have to leave their homes in Yaton.
The Avon and the Somerset Police have told anyone living with the withdrawal cordon who experiences health issues to call 999.
Employees of the South Western Ambulance Service are on the spot as part of “well-rehearsed multi-agency schemes”, Bal said.
