An initial break placed her under the control of the first set before taking her sixth set point on her opponent’s service.
Redukanu fell 4–2 after the break down in the second, but produced an impressive finish with a run of four consecutive games to win.
“I am really happy how I came in that match,” said Redukanu.
“I focused my attention in a few moments in the second set and took advantage of, but was very happy that I came against a top opponent and happy to expand my stay in Montreal.
