New Delhi: Reshtri Janata Dal leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashvi Yadav said on Wednesday that Mahagatdanan can consider boycotting the upcoming assembly elections citing the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Amendment (SIR) election rolls.“That can also be discussed. We will see what people want and what is the opinion of all,” Yadav told IANS whether the boycott of a pole was on the table.Earlier in the day, after the Yadava, dramatic scenes were revealed in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, wearing a black T-shirt in protest, was allowed to speak on the practice of EC. Questioning the time and intention at the amendment, his comment triggered a sharp intervention by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who dismissed the allegations and accused the RJD of “nothing” during his time in power.“You are a child. You don’t know anything … Whatever the nonsense you want to say, say it during the election,” Kumar portrayed Jources from the opposition benches.As the exchange increased, Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav postponed the house for just 30 minutes in the session. He expressed disappointment on both sides, reprimanded the Deputy CM Vijay Sinha for shouting and asked RJD MLA Bhai Virendra to apologize for using the unique language.Later at a press conference, Tejashvi questioned the EC’s decision to remove the names of voters not found at his registered address and accused the BJP of using voter roll amendments to manipulate the upcoming elections. “What about 4.5 crore people who work outside Bihar and return only during elections?” He asked.He also claimed that 55 lakh voters were already declared ‘missing’ in the EC records and said, “If the BJP wants to run the government using fake voter lists, just give them an extension. What is the matter of holding an election?”
