As the disputes around Texas’s redistributed efforts still anger, California village Gavin Newsom and former house speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Friday that the Golden State Voters will move forward with a special choice for a special election to make their own redistribution plan on a ballot measurement before voters.
Newsom said that the step was a opposition for Texas and was being taken in a transparent fashion, but it would also probably see Democrats raising five seats if measures are adopted. The scheme will allow Democrats to temporarily bypass the state’s independent redistribution commission and adopt a new Congress map before the 2026 elections.
Newsom ran away from his kingdom by several California MPs and some Texas Democrats on Friday, “We are talking about emergency measures to answer what is happening in Texas and we will make it zero.”

Newsom said, “We will raise five seats with the consent of the people.” We are doing it on a temporary basis. We are doing this in a completely transparent manner and we are doing it by asking the people of the state of California for their consent and support. “
California will be the first democratic leadership to actively initiate the process of passing the new Congress district lines before 2026 midnight in response to Texas’s redistribution push.
Newsom said that the Democrats had till 22 August to receive measures on the ballot and raided against President Donald Trump and Texas Gove Greg Abbott in justifying the move.
On Friday, Newsom, referring to the push of the Texas governor, said, “Greg Abbott, who does not have courage, does not have a backbone, does not have the discretion of the results of his actions … now dialing for new seats.”

The Texas Republican, encouraged by the Trump administration, is chasing a Congress map, which aims to include five GOP-shock districts, inducing fierce backlash and retaliation. Texas Democrats have fled the loan star state in the Democrat-Strongigold states to break the quorum and prevent votes.
The Texas House requires the quorum of two-thirds of the members present to operate the official business and the state MPs have stated that they plan to remain absent from the state by the end of August, when the special session ends.
Texas Democrats argues that their state’s redistribution plan is unconstitutional and nakely partial.

House’s Texas Speaker Dustin Baroz signed an arrest warrant for absent Democrats on Monday, after approval of such warrants and the village called the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest “Texas House Democrats”. Arrest warrant is largely seen as symbolic as they apply to them only within state lines.
California State Assembly Speaker Robert Rivus, a Democrat, said maps will be available to see next week.
“Once these maps are released, voters will get an opportunity to digest these maps, review them for weeks and months for this choice,” he said.
