Hyderabad:
Bharat Rashtra Sameethi MLC Kalvakantala Kavitha started a major uproar in the party on Monday, accusing his cousin – former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and former MP J Santosh Rao – which takes a big property unilaterally as his father and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Kaewith, who landed in Hyderabad after a 10-day visit to the US, ordered a strong exception to the Chief Minister by a Revantha Reddy ordered an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project.
“When a great leader like KCR is forced to face CBI inquiry, does it also matter whether BRS is alive or not?” He asked while addressing a press conference at his residence.
He directly accused Harish Rao and Santosh of being responsible for irregularities in the construction of Kaleshwaram irrigation project. He said, “KCR is being sacrificed. It was Harish Rao and Santosh Rao, who handled the major aspects of the project. He deposited the huge property blinding KCR. They are the anacondus of corruption,” he alleged.
Kavitha said that KCR had done so much for Telangana that he used to care hard for his good. He expressed pain that a CBI inquiry was being ordered against his father, saying that the person celebrated as the hero who had achieved Telangana, was now being dragged through mud.
“From now on, everyone will call KCR a CBI case?” He asked. He warned that if his father’s reputation is tarnished, it would also harm his family’s honor.
Saying that Harish Rao and Santosh played a major role in the Kaleshwaram project, Kavita said that he was responsible for the current situation with contractor Megha Krishna Reddy.
He claimed that removing Harish Rao as Irrigation Minister during the second term of BRS was the result of his alleged role in Kaleshwaram irregularities. He also accused him of spreading “false propaganda” against him on social media to tarnish his image.
He questioned why the party was not strongly answering for investigation itself, saying that losing elections is one thing, but it is very bad to lose respect. “BRS has called for a Telangana shutdown when Revanath Reddy announced a CBI inquiry in Kaleshwaram?” He asked.
Kavitha said that she would remain independent and demanded a direct investigation of those people, in whose name he claimed that the real facts would be revealed then.
