In the opaque world of the British and Irish Lions, the case of Mac Hansen’s availability, or otherwise, is an eager for the first testing against Australia in Brisbane on Saturday (Kick-off 11.00BST).
Such suggestions were made that Ireland Wing, who was expected to be part of Andy Fareel’s squad for the match at Suncorp Stadium, suffered a leg injury after his impressive night against AUNZ Invitational team on Saturday in Adelaide.
On Monday, Lions Assistant Coach John Delzil was asked about Henson and indicated that the wing was fine, Lions was participating in the walk-through season and did not show signs of anything unpleasant.
A day later and the picture has changed something. Another Lions, an assistant coach, Richard Wigllesworth, confirmed that Henson had actually hurt his leg against Aauz.
In a misleading interview session, Wigllesworth stated that Hansen’s injury was nothing serious and the management was not extremely concerned about him, while at the same time admitting that no one trained on Tuesday, is “a doubt” for Saturday.
Hansen failed to play a full role in training on Tuesday.
So this is this doubt that? Well…
The injured Full-Back Blair is also a concern with Kinghorn, an update to Wigllesworth.
“If they [Kinghorn included] Go to the field tomorrow [Wednesday] And they are better, then they are correct in the controversy, “said Wigllesworth.
“We haven’t finalized anything yet, so there is a doubt that no person who does not fully train today, but he has definitely not eaten out.”
This is where it became strange. On its face, we were told, Hansen and Kinghorn could prove their fitness on Wednesday and put themselves “right” to create a squad, which was suggested, suggested during the same interview session. These two things do not add.
When asked about the discussion around the identity of 23 for Saturday, he said: “We know that we have received such quality on all positions, so we will lie if we said it was easy.
“In the context of how soon it was, there have been two or three conversations, we have chosen and we will tell the leads tomorrow. [Wednesday],
This indicates that Paarel and his coaches already know who made 23. So it really does not matter whether Henson and Kinghorn do not train, or Wednesday, because 23 have already been solved on Wednesday.
