The UK, France and Germany have told the United Nations that they are ready to re -tell the restrictions on Iran on their nuclear program if this dialogue fails to resume By the end of August.
The three countries known as E3 stated that they were ready to trigger a “Snapback” mechanism – meaning that previous restrictions would be restored – until Iran starts dialogue.
The E3 said that they had offered to expand a time limit for negotiations by the end of August, which Iran has not responded.
Last month, Iran said it was designed for further conversation, but only once the restrictions were lifted and a civil nuclear program was agreed to.
It comes last month after an initial conversation between E3 and Iranian diplomats in Istanbul, Turkey.
In a letter to the United Nations and its leading Antonio Gutres, three foreign ministers – France’s Jean -Nahl Barrot, David Lemy from UK and Johan Wadeful from Germany – said they would implement serious sanctions on Iran until they agree to limit their nuclear program.
On Tuesday, E3 stated that an expansion offer for talks “remained unanswered by Iran”.
The letter said, “We have made it clear that if Iran is not ready to reach a diplomatic solution before the end of August 2025, or does not seize the extension opportunity, the E3 is ready to trigger the Snapback mechanism,” the letter said.
He was committed to using “all diplomatic equipment” to ensure that he did not develop Iran nuclear weapons – some Iran has denied the intention of doing.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazam Garibabadi said in July that triggering sanctions would be “completely illegal”.
The ban on Iran’s nuclear program was first lifted in 2015, when Iran signed a nuclear deal with E3, US, Russia and China, agreed to borders on its nuclear operations and allowed international inspectors to enter their nuclear sites. The deal is about to end in October.
During the first term of President Donald Trump, the US withdrew from the deal in 2018, the leader said that Iran was very low to prevent Iran from creating a route for a atomic bomb.
With its return, all US sanctions were re -imposed on Iran.
Iran retaliated by rapidly violating sanctions. In May, the United Nations Nuclear Watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated that it was enriched by more than 400 kg of uranium with 60% purity – above the levels used for civil purposes and close to weapon grade.
In June, Iran’s Parliament suspended cooperation with IAEA after tension with Israel and the US came to one head.
Israel started attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities in the same month, starting a 12-day war.
The United States bombed several nuclear sites in Iran, causing the US-Iran’s conversation to a sudden end.
After the attacks, E3 countries warned Iran about its suspension of cooperation with IAEA.
