The UK and 27 other countries have called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, where they say that the suffering of the citizens has “reached a new depth”.
A joint statement stated that Israel’s support distribution model is dangerous and condemns that it calls “drip feeding of aid and inhuman killing of citizens” as “looking for food and water”.
Gaza’s Hamas-Interested Health Ministry said more than 100 Palestinians were killed and 19 other people died as a result of malnutrition while waiting for food over the weekend.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry dismissed the statements of the countries, saying that it was “separated from reality and sends wrong messages to Hamas”.
The ministry accused the armed group of lies and reducing support distribution, rather than agreeing with a new ceasefire and hostage release deal.
There have been several international statements condemning the Israeli strategy in Gaza during the last 21 months of the war with Hamas. But this announcement is notable for its candor.
The signators are the Foreign Minister of the UK and 27 other nations, including Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, New Zealand and Switzerland.
This statement begins to declare that “war in Gaza should end now”.
It then warns: “The suffering of citizens in Gaza has reached a new depth. The Israeli government’s aid distribution model is dangerous, deprived of fuel instability and human dignity.”
“We condemn the drip feeding and inhuman killing of citizens including children, demanding to meet our most basic needs of water and food. It is terrible that more than 800 Palestinians have been killed demanding assistance.”
Waiting for food since May, there have been about daily reports of Palestinians being killed, when Israel partially reduced the 11 -week total blockade on aid delivery and with the US, helped install a new aid system being run by Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which helped the existing one overseas unseen.
Israel has stated that the GHF system, which uses American private security contractors to hand over food parcels from sites inside the Israeli military areas, prevents the supply of theft by Hamas.
But the United Nations and its partners have refused to cooperate with the system, saying that it is unsafe and violates human principles of fairness, neutrality and freedom.
Last Tuesday, the United Nations Human Rights Office said it had registered 674 murders in the area around GHF after starting work eight weeks ago. Another 201 murders were recorded with the United Nations and other aid convoy routes, it was added.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, on Saturday, one and 39 people were killed near Khan Younis and two GHF sites in a nearby Rafa. The Israeli army stated that its soldiers took out warning shots to stop “suspects”, which were coming to them before the sites opened.
And on Sunday, the ministry stated that 67 people were killed as they moved towards a convoy of the United Nations aid Lawry near a crossing point in North Gaza. The Israeli army stated that the soldiers hit the warning shots on a mob warning shots “to overcome an immediate threat”, but disputed the numbers killed.
After the incident, the World Food Program warned that Gaza’s hunger crisis “had reached new levels of frustration”.
The United Nations agency said, “People are dying of lack of human assistance. Malnutrition is immediately needed to treat 90,000 women and children.”
Gaza’s Hamas-Interested Health Ministry said on Monday that 19 people had died as a result of malnutrition from Saturday and warned of potential “large deaths” in the coming days.
“Hospitals can no longer provide food for patients or employees, many of whom are unable to continue working due to excessive appetite,” Dr al-Aksa Hospital, a spokesman of Al-Balah, Dr.. Khalil al-Dakran told the BBC.
He said, “Hospitals cannot provide a single bottle of milk to children suffering from hunger, as all baby formula has gone out of the market,” he said.
The residents also reported that the markets were closed due to lack of food.
“My children cry with hunger all night. They had only a small plate of lentils in the last three days. There is no bread. One kilogram of flour was $ 80 (£ 59) a week ago.”
The statement of 27 countries also states that the Israeli proposal to transfer the entire 2.1 million of Gaza to a so -called “human city” in the southern Rafah region is unacceptable, given that “permanent forced display is a violation of international human law”.
They urge Israel, Hamas and the international community to “finish this terrible struggle through an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire”.
And they warns that they are “ready to take further action to support a political route for the immediate ceasefire and safety and peace”.
Many codes are seen by many people to recognize the position of Palestine, some countries have done, but not all, including the UK and France.
Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Oren Marmorsstein rejected criticism.
He said, “All statements and all claims should be directed at the sole party responsible for the release of hostages and lack of a deal for a ceasefire: Hamas, who started this war and stretching it,” he said.
He said, “Instead of agreeing to a ceasefire, Hamas is busy running a campaign to spread a lie about Israel. At the same time, Hamas is deliberately working to increase friction and is harming the citizens who come to receive human assistance,” he said.
Responsible for the Israeli military body co-ordinating aid, Kogat also stated that Israel “works according to international law and is making a leading effort to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid in Gaza in coordination with international organizations”.
A GHF spokesperson, meanwhile, appealed to the United Nations agencies to join their operation, while blaming them for “stopping” and failed to supply the entire region.
Chapin Fee told reporters that he had gone for Seema Crossing, where he saw the supply supply “rotting” because the United Nations agencies would not distribute them.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that 700 Lawry Load of Aid was waiting for the United Nations to be picked up by the crossing.
The United Nations has said that it struggles to take supply and distribute supply due to ongoing enmity, Israeli ban on human movements and fuel deficiency.
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza on 7 October 2023 in response to the Hamas -led attack on Southern Israel, killing around 1,200 people and 251 others were taken hostage.
According to the health ministry of the region, at least 59,029 people have been killed in Gaza since then.
