New Delhi: Congress, which has been at the forefront of ‘vote theft’ against the Election Commission, is the only national party that has not changed to the structured talks being held by the Election Commission with the top leadership of national and state political parties recognized by the Election Commission for the last 3.5 months.The EC shared in a press note on Monday, “An invitation for (a conversation) for May 15, 2025 was extended to the Indian National Congress (Inc.).After Rahul Gandhi, there was an unusual increase in votes after 5 pm in the column of a newspaper, the alleged flaws in the electoral rolls and the final assembly survey in Maharashtra, the EC invited him to a meeting on 12 June. However, there was no response to Rahul.Even Rahul is in the middle of his ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar to suppress his ‘vote theft’ allegations in view of 65 million deletion, EC said on Monday that he has already received documents of more than 99.1% out of 7.2 crore voters listed in draft electoral roles. As with respect to 65 million removed names, more than 1.4 lakh claims and objections (barely 2%) have been received so far, of which only 10 are from the party booth level agents and the rest are directly filed by the voters.For the past six months, EC has included 28,000 delegates from national and state political parties in 4,719 meetings, of which 40 were taken by Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs), 800 by District Election Officers (DEOs), and 3,879 Election Registration Officers (EROS). Subsequently, it interacted with five out of five of the six national parties in May and 17 state parties in July and August, listening to them on all issues of concern.The EC said on Monday, “These active meetings are a new initiative by the Commission. The initiative aligns the Commission with the comprehensive vision to further strengthen the electoral process as per the current legal structure with all the stakeholders of the Commission.”
