The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) on Friday announced the result for admission to graduation engineering, technology, pharmacy and architectural courses, a few hours after the Supreme Court leaving the merit list on the order of the Calcutta High Court.
The High Court had directed WBjeb to prepare a fresh qualification list. The order states that the WBJEEB will resume the merit list and publish a new panel, which will provide 7% reservation for 66 sections of OBC candidates recognized by the West Bengal Backward Classes Department before 2010. ,
Anirudh Chakraborty was declared a topper from Don Bosco School in Park Circus. Samyajoti Biswas finished second from Kalyani Central Model School in Kalyani, and Nita Basu of Delhi Public School in Ruby Park finished third.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the students who passed the exam. “For those who could not achieve good results for some reason, I urge you to lose your heart, but for the preparation of better results in the future,” he wrote on X.
“Due to legal complications, the declaration of results was slightly delayed this time compared to previous years. However, I am confident that, after overcoming all adversities, you will achieve more and more success in the coming days and make Bengal proud.”
