“I don’t think it has so far drowned to be honest. He called me this morning – about an hour ago – and I haven’t stopped moving now. It’s an incredible honor. I’m really excited.”
White admitted that it was “difficult” to see the original Lions squad because he missed the selection.
“But this was an experience I can put in the locker,” he said. “I just knew that I just have to do what I can and I can try to play well for my club, Talan.
“I was really excited to be on a tour with Scotland, and to play for the amazing of Scotland, and I focused on it.
“I think someone is looking upwards for me. It is falling on my feet.”
White “Strait Awe” called his parents to inform the news.
“I don’t think they can believe it a lot,” he said. “They were clearly incredibly proud. It was a great phone call.
“This is something you dream, but you never really think you will.”
White brought the Lions representation of Scotland to eight to eight in the 38-fierce squad, as Xandar Fagerson was forced to withdraw through an injury.
He said, “Obviously there are some Scottish boys in the squad and it would be very good to see the players who I do not know very well,” he said.
Two minutes after scotland’s head coach Gregor Townsend, two minutes after his congratulations, told White that he was booked on a afternoon flight for Australia.
Townsend now has to prepare for the Saturday meeting with Maori All Blax without a scramas-huff of the first choice of 25 times.
“It was an honor to play for Scotland and to come here in New Zealand and I was really eager for three big Test matches.”
“But the squads we have here is amazing and I know they are going well against Maori in the weekend. It’s going to be a great game for us and I think we have really trained well, so it will be exciting to see how we go and I will make sure.”
Meanwhile, the 25 -year -old War will now get a chance to add to his two Scotland caps.
