Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir is allegedly going to visit America this week, his second visit in two months after military clashes with India.
The journey is apparently a mutual journey, to participate in a farewell program for the US Central Command Chief General Michael E Kurila, Florida, Pakistani newspaper Dawn Reported citing sources. Kurila was in Pakistan last month, where he was awarded a mark-e-Imtiaz, one of the top honors of Pakistan.
Field Marshal Munir was hosted by US President Donald Trump for a private lunch at the White House on 18 June.
This was one of the occasions where Trump claimed to claim ceasefire between India and Pakistan. In fact, he also praised Munir for this.
India has insisted that its foreign policy decisions – including ceasefire – are not ruled by any foreign influence.
The relations between India and the US have been stressful ever since, which is “fined” to trade with Russia amidst implementing Trump’s business tariff to 50% – one step India has called “unfair and inappropriate”.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army has rubbed the rumors of Field Marshal Munir, who have become the President of the country by replacing Asif Ali Zardari.
American General, Michael Kurila, whose farewell is going to participate in Munir, recently bracked India and Pakistan, said that America has relations with both in combating terrorism.
In his remarks during the hearing of the US Congress’s Armed Service Committee, he described Pakistan as a “unprecedented partner” in anti-terrorism. He was in June, when India attacked terrorist bases inside Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir, after the April massacre in Pahalgam.
