Kolkata: On August 25, a person who allegedly shot his former classmate in his house in Nadia district of West Bengal has been arrested from Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, Krishnanagar Superintendent of Police Amarnath Ki said on Monday.
The two were earlier in a relationship until the victim, Ishita Mallik abolished it about seven months ago. On 25 August, prominent suspect, Desraj Singh entered and killed the Manikpara area of ​​Krishnanagar city of 18 -year -old college student Ishita Mallik’s house.
Amarnath Ki said, “Ishita Mallik was shot inside her house in Manikpara area of ​​Krishnanagar city. His former classmate and prominent suspected Desis Singh planned to be murdered for about seven months.”
“Singh fled after the murder and took shelter at various places in Uttar Pradesh. Our police team was after that. He was arrested from Maharajganj district on Sunday, while trying to cross Nepal,” the SP said.
Inshita’s family told the police that Singh entered the house when her mother went out of school to take her younger son. He was there when she returned and allegedly saw her holding a gun.
“After the crime, Singh moved to Ayodhya and some fake documents such as Aadhaar card and a fake identity card of the Border Security Force, to use them to take shelter in Nepal, one of his relatives was arrested on Sunday in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and it was due to Singh’s arrest.
Singh was produced before a court in Nadia on Monday.
“We intend to complete the investigation and file a charge sheet in 45 days,” the SP said.
Ishita Mallik was shot in the head in her first floor bedroom. His mother, who saw the suspect running away from the crime site, accidentally told the police that his name was Debaz Singh.
Isha’s family said that Singh lived with his parents in Kankrapara city in nearby North 24 Parganas district.
Ishita’s family also lived in Kanchrapara before shifting to Krishnagar. Singh and Ishita went to the same school in Kanchrapara where they came into a relationship. Ishita broke about seven months ago.
