A person has been arrested after finding suspected explosive material in a house in Beverly.
Officers were called on Watts Road at around 08:30 BST to report a dispute between three men, during which a person was allegedly attacked with a hammer.
The Hamberoside police said a 54 -year -old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attack, and a 27 -year -old man ran inside a nearby address, where firearms, a hammer and suspected explosive material were found.
Bal said that later an explosive substance was arrested on suspicion of damaging and occupation of an explosive substance and remained in police custody, Bal said. A 35 -year -old man has been rushed to the hospital with minor injuries.
The force believes that the three people knew each other.
A 100 meter (328 ft) cordon has been kept and the police have asked people to escape from the area.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council said the residents have been evacuated.
CH SUPT Simon Vicers stated that the material has now been safely removed and will be disposed of, but the cordon remains “in place” to allow emergency services to end its inquiry safely.
Luke Savez, a 45 -year -old resident, said he was on the way to the house from shops when he “heard a ruckus”.
He said, “My son and my son went to get a coffee and as we came back, we were told that we could not come on the road anymore. It has shut down.”
The 58 -year -old Colin Ferguson, who lives in a nearby flats, said he was taken out at around 11:00 BST. “It’s a bit unusual,” he said.
CH SUPT Vicers said: “The discovered items were the cause of concern and was to be investigated by experts to ensure that it was properly handled and dealt with, so there should be no risk or threat to the public.
