Archaeologists have announced the discovery of an ancient city in the northern Baranka province of Peru.
The 3,500 -year -old city is believed to have been named Peeñico, believed to serve as a major trading hub, which combines early Pacific coast communities with people living in Andes Mountains and Amazon Basin.
Located a few 200 km north of Lima, the site is located about 600 meters (1,970 ft) above sea level and is believed to have been installed between 1,800 and 1,500 BC – around the same time when early civilizations were flourishing in the Middle East and Asia.
Researchers say that Discovery throws light on the US’s oldest civilization, Karl.
The drone footage released by the researchers shows a circular structure on a hill roof in the city center, surrounded by the remains of stone and earthen buildings.
Eight -year research on the site detected 18 structures, including formal temples and residential complexes.
In buildings on the site, researchers discovered formal objects, soil statues of human and animals figures and necklaces made of beads and seas.
Located close to PEUNICO, where Karal was recognized as the oldest known civilization in the US, was established 5,000 years ago in the Sup Valley of Peru in about 3,000 BC.
Carl features 32 monuments, including large pyramid structures, sophisticated irrigation agriculture and urban settlements. It is believed that India, Egypt, Sumeria and China have been developed in isolation for other comparative early civilizations.
Archaeologist Dr. Ruth Shaidi, who led the recent research and Karl excavation in Peico in the 1990s, stated that after climate change it was important to understand what happened to the Karal civilization.
Dr. Shaidi told the Reuters News Agency that the Peñico community “was located in a strategic place for trade for exchange of societies from the coast, highlands and forests.
At a news conference, unveiling the findings on Thursday, archaeologist Marco Machakay, a researcher from the Ministry of Culture, said that the importance of Petonico is the continuity of the Karal Society.
Peru is home to many of the most important archaeological discoveries in America, including the mysterious Nazka lines living in the desert with the Inca Garh of Machu Pichu and the Central Coast in the Andes.
