Apple TV+ put its prices for monthly customers and the world across the world, as the cost of streaming continues to increase.
The platform per month is costing £ 1 to £ 9.99 per month, although the annual prices have been the same at £ 89 per year.
This means that an Apple TV+ monthly membership is now double the price when it is launched in UK in November 2019.
Apple told the BBC that the price was immediately applicable to new users, the existing customers will have their next renewal 30 days later, before they start paying more.
Since its launch, Apple Tv+ has expanded its deep library of hundreds of Apple original, with a spokesperson, with thousands of hours of premium programming and brand-new release weekly-all advertisements, “said a spokesperson.
In the US, Apple TV+ users will see a large price increase from $ 9.99 to $ 12.99 per month.
Apple does not publicly disclose the number of members of members for its streaming service.
However, Statista placed this number on an estimated 25m paid subscriber in 2022, in addition to reaching the service through a promotion to 50 meters.
Tech blog information kept this number at 45 meters in March When it was reported Apple TV+ was losing more than $ 1bn (£ 750m) annually.
The streaming service has gained prominence after a string of a large show, including the show the studio led by science-fi-hit serence and Seth Rogen.
PP Pharite technology analyst Paolo Peschetor told BBC, “Streaming business is following the traditional pay TV world with annual price growth.”
“We should be accustomed to an increase in these prices, as streamers want to make their diverse programming portfolio comprehensive.”
‘Opportunities with abundance’
This is an increase in the first price for the platform in about two years.
In contrast, Netfli has increased prices annually and cost anywhere between £ 5.99 and £ 18.99 a month.
Other streaming service has also seen the price hike in the last one year, with Disney+ going between £ 8.99 and £ 12.99 in October, while Paramount+ prices increased between £ 4.99 and £ 10.99 in November.
These services are supported by cheap options advertisements offered by these services, which do not show the Apple TV+.
“We are in a golden era of storytelling, and the users still want to immerse themselves in unique materials,” said Mr. Pescator.
“There are abundance opportunities to reach the new audience, whether opportunistic tricks with large dramatic presentations or in achieving live sports.
“Whatever is changing is distribution and Apple is well deployed with its giant user base – however, it needs to do a better job to clarify its merit on rivals.”
