Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Janaki temple at Panki temple in Sitamari district of Bihar, considered the birthplace of Goddess Sita.
Project foundation stone-ling ceremony, higher value than 882.87 crore, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, several Union Ministers and other dignitaries were also included.
Officials said Shah demonstrated ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ and unveiled the design of the Janaki temple for its redevelopment.

He also flagged off the Satamiri-Dili Amrit Bharat Express train.
The state cabinet approved 882.87 crore for integrated development of the temple complex on 1 July.
Of total amount, 137 crore will be spent on the development of the old temple and its premises, while Officials said 728 crores will be used for tourism -related activities.
Other than this, 16 crore rupees will be spent on widespread maintenance for 10 years, he said.
Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) will implement the project.
The state government recently formed a nine-member trust, headed by the Chief Secretary, which was for the construction and redevelopment of the temple.
BJP spokesperson Niraj Kumar of Bihar had earlier told PTI, “Sri Ram Janmabhumi pilgrimage will be widely developed on the lines of Ayodhya, in which a large number of pilgrims visit the line.
The state cabinet also approved the appointment of a Noida-based company as a design consultant for the project.
This firm was engaged in master planning and architectural services for Ram Janmabhumi vein.
